Michael & Michelle Johns joined the Victory pastoral staff in 1998 after being involved in church for several years.

Born and raised on the east side of Tucson, Pastor Mike is a “hometown boy.”  He attended Eastside Assembly while growing up and first began his “ministry training” by volunteering his summers to work at the church throughout high-school and part of college.  After serving on the church council at Victory for a few years, Pastor Zane asked Mike to join the church staff as our Pastor of Administration.  Pastor Mike’s passion is to see the Kingdom of God expand in Tucson.  In fact, you can’t be around Pastor Mike long without hearing him “cast vision” for what He sees the Lord doing at Victory. 

A former realtor and business owner, he’s excited that our church is beginning a new building phase to accommodate the increasing number of people that God is sending our way.  We rest assured knowing that Pastor Mike is coordinating our efforts and using our resources in a way that will not only reach our city but also please the Lord.

But long before Pastor Mike came to Victory, he met a young woman named Michelle Challe.  Michelle was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, but her family relocated to Tucson and began attending Victory when she was 11.  Saved at the age of 9 during Vacation Bible School, Michelle first felt a draw toward ministry at age 10.  Following high-school she attended Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas.  After graduation, she returned home and met Mike in 1981.  They were married in 1982 and soon began their journey of ministry together.

Michelle, having a passion to help people find their ministry and connect to others directs the Assimilation ministries at Victory.

Through a myriad of discipleship classes including Called & Commissioned, Firm Foundations and the Truth Project,  that are designed to train, equip and disciple people newcomers as well as long term attendees have opportunity to guidance in this area.

Michelle also oversees the Greeter ministry, Guest services, the Hospitality team and the Victory bookstore.

Mike and Michelle have two children, Justin and Mikayla.
