Chuck and Mimi Young joined the Pastoral Staff of Victory in September, 2004. They’re story together begins as high school sweethearts. Eventually, after seven years of dating, Chuck finally talked Mimi into becoming his bride.
Chuck and Mimi were both raised in Christian homes by Godly mothers. However, they both also walked away from their commitment to Christ. To quote Chuck, they both were “thinking ourselves wise but becoming ding-dongs” during their college careers. They would find Jesus anew, however, this time as Lord and Savior while they were looking for a pastor to marry them amid the turbulent times of the Jesus movement in the early 70’s.
Chuck’s passion was forever changed as he found the Savior’s love. He finally had a vision for life after finding a God who loved him, filled the void within, and truly rescued him from a destructive lifestyle. Mimi found a God that loved her unconditionally. It would take many years, though, for that understanding to move from her head to her heart. Now her vision for life includes helping others find this same freedom.

Mimi graduated from Northern Arizona University while Chuck is an Arizona State University alumnus. As the sole Sun Devil on a Wildcat dominated staff, he needs prayer daily! Chuck worked in the business field of information technology for nearly 30 years prior to joining the staff at Victory. His work experience ranges from small endeavors to Fortune 500 companies with varied programming and systems design projects. Mimi worked as an educator in the public school system, including her role as a principal in a Christian school. She also home-schooled their three children for four years. Many education venues, varying from vacation bible school to fine arts camps have benefited from Mimi’s creativity.
As a young, married couple, they attended Grace Chapel in Sierra Vista, later moving to Tucson. 1985 would see them move to Springfield, MO, to help plant another Grace Chapel. During these years they enjoyed participating in and leading diverse prayer, study, and relationship groups. The resulting relationships they formed have been a key in their lives. That’s spiritual code for the fact that they just really like cooking and eating breakfast with friends.
In 1998, they began attending Victory, involving themselves in several aspects of the prayer ministry for the past several years. They are convinced that Victory is a safe place of hope where lives are changed by the love of Christ.
Family has always been important to Chuck and Mimi. They enjoy activities together such as hiking, camping, golf, log cabin building!. They have twin daughters, Sara and Hanna, and a son Ben. Sara and husband Jeremy, live in Tennessee, and are proud parents of grandson, Evan Charles.
